What kind of site you thinking about doin?
I have a tech blog now and have made decent money with Google Adsense on it. I figured I would transfer the content over to a dedicated .com rather than using a blogging platform. I also figured I could use it as real world experience. I have 2 semesters left before I graduate from university with my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems. Right now I have loads of MySQL and PHP classes and have more to take. I figured having a website with those features would help me learn them rather than reading a book all the time.

Or use WAMP Server and do it yourself...easy as **** to setup and use. Just need a domain and someone to host your domain and use their nameservers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

pm if you have more questions.

I have bought all my domains in the past from godaddy and ran my site off a home based server, such as wamp server. If you have good firewall, malware, spyware and anti virus programs you don't have to worry.

Also got cracked version of AVG and malware bytes til 2018 if anyone wants it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Got some other stuffs too :p

I've always used godaddy and haven't had any issues with it. Domains are only like $8 a year and hosting is dirt cheap for the kind of space and speeds you get. However if this is just more of a personal website you can use a spare computer, install ubuntu or something and use the WAMP on it. If you aren't familiar with using linux or a command line, windows server would work as well.

Ive got 3 computers. 1 is my gaming laptop and 2 are netbooks. Not anything that can handle a website. Ill check GoDaddy out some more. From what I was seeing it was $11.99 for a year for the hosting, then the cost of the domain and then an additional $10/year for keeping the WhoIs info private.
