Weather conditions on an amp

In my new setup, my amp is mounted on top of the box. It's been rainy as hell the last few days, and it got me thinking about that. In a few months it will snow and all of that. Would it be wise to move it, or can they stand up to the elements? My previous install I had the amps mounted on the back seats.

u drivin a jeep? i think it'll be fine as long as its not getting wet.. its not mounted on a motorcycle is it??
trunk car. I just noticed it was a little wet when I went to go in my trunk. Granted it was raining, but i'd rather have something with electrical current going through it as dry as possible,

and no, water and electricity dont mix. if it is getting wet thats a problem. and if your box is getting wet that shit will swell and be cardboard in no time

umm in extremely cold weather dont go full tilt on the amp before it has time to warm upi had a amp re35.1 smoke on me doing that
you get extreme cold in alabama? i live in cleveland, can be -30 or 100 any given day, even in Feb!!! haha and ive never had an issue. sure it blew cause of the weather?

you might want to ask yourself why your trunk is leaking in the first place.
Trunk is not leaking. Just saying that if I need to go back there in the rain or when it starts snowing like hell and I need to get the snow brush out of the trunk, what effect will the elements have on my amp being out in the open.

I've thought of this problem a couple times but forget to ask about it. Lets say that during the winter time and you have your amp mounted in your trunk, you cold start the car and turn on the heater and such, since amps are metal, wouldn't it percipitate causing it to be wet? Not sure if you guys know what i'm talking about.

My amps survived the winter. And we had a lot of cold days last winter. I did remote start the car most days though.

when i say cold i meant like 30-35

and yea i cant think of anything else

i know my wiring was correct

but it was a 35.1 so it was a little old (maybe sawdust from sitting in a shop too)

but still did 1800 rms @ 1 ohm

lol@30-35 winters. We'd be wearing little *** jackes if it got UP to 35 in January- early March. Had an ex from SC and she said they shut the city down with 2 inches of snow.
