Actually Monty Python puts a lot more truth and thought into his pieces than you'd expect. The scene with the cows / ducks / geese / pigs being thrown at the knights is a reference to what started the bubonic (black) plague. The scene with the witch, the duck, the peasants and the scales actually reflected how easily people were manipulated at the time. The scene with the woman and Dennis where she's going "Oh there's some lovely filth" represents how little the king understood peasant way of life. The "Bring out your dead" scene was a real life common practice back then.
If you analize the works of Monty Python you'll find a whole new world of intellect.
