We are screwed

If they were that worried about it you can bet their stocks would start falling immediately.
No, they wouldn't. Wall Street operates like a majority of the sheeple in this country...very, very, VERY short memories.

With the passage of this mess, we are fucking screwed...and our kids....and our grandkids, and so on, and so on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And everyone seems to forget what "insurance" is...it is the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss from one entity to another in exchange for paying a premium. If you are a low risk, you pay a low premium. If you are a high risk, you pay a higher premium. The risk is spread across the entire group of policyholders and the real reason behind the indemnification of the risk is to mitigate the cost of a catastrophic loss. It really is that simple.

What the gov't is now doing is telling the morons of this country that they can now go to their health insurance company and buy insurance for a high risk (aka "pre-existing condition") and pay a low premium for it...or, if they cannot afford it, we the taxpayers will pay for it for them instead. This will of course, over time, bankrupt all private healthcare insurers thus "requiring" the almighty and ever benelovent gov't to step in and "save us" with gov't run healthcare. At which point we can be in the same boat as Britain, Canada and the like. Perfect!

It's kinda like buying auto insurance on your car, expecting that the insurance company will pay for your oil changes and other regular maintenance, forcing the auto insurance company to sell you a policy the minute AFTER you have been in an accident or better yet, after you've already been in 10 (pre-existing condition, remember?) and if you can't afford the policy, forcing all of your neighbors to pay for YOUR policy. Yeah, this will work out real well.

How's Medicare and Social Security workin' out for ya? I believe you see those little deductions from your paychecks every time you get one. Think you will ever see any benefit for the money you are paying into those Ponzi schemes? If you think you will, you are more fucking stupid than a box of rocks. And now the gov't is going to collect taxes for their latest Ponzi scheme for 4 years BEFORE "benefits" even start being doled out. Hmmmmmmm....let me guess....in 4 years the question will be, "Where did the money go?". Oh yeah, that's right, the brainiacs in Congress spent it already on other pet projects. Welcome to U.S. civics in the 21st century....we are well on our way to becoming the next third world hell hole.

Government bills always work in theory (Medicare, Welfare, and Social Security). Just like any democratic bill then intent is always good and their values try to appeal to the broad populus of Middle class and below.

The problem comes down into the execution of the federal government to regulate and implement their legislation. Both democrats and republicans love to debate and vote on new legislation. But they are lazy fukers when it comes to upholding what has already been passed.

A big chunck of this bill is supposed to be paid by "cost savings" from several different program cuts and efficiencies to reduce waste. In theory this should offset most of the cost of the bill and only minimal external funding through new taxes/treasury securities will be needed.

The problem is that they will never realize the "cost savings" or cut any programs. So they do the easy part to pass the bill but leave the hard work to the government employees (e.g. Non-Politicians) to clean up all of their mess.

This is why I hate politicians from all parties!

I'm not a big fan of the Repubs trust me...but as there are only 2 parties available to promote the principles conservatives believe in, the GOP is all we have. Do I want to throw out the idiots in BOTH parties, hell yeah! Everything the gov't comes up with works in "theory", it's just that reality has proven time and again that looking to gov't for the answer is not the wise choice.

This so called "reform" is just one more handout that will bankrupt our country even quicker than what Social Security and Medicare is already doing.

Our system now is fckd up, period. Something must be done, period. So why is everyone complaining when a plan comes into play? Its better than just sitting around doing nothing and *****in it. WE all dug ourselves in this hole. We should take the responsibility and get ourselves out.

Look at Obama's own ten year budgets and tell me he plans on saving a **** thing.....In fact I can't really recall to many times government actually saved $. Clinton did somewhat as a whole but it was not off his original tax plan.

Oh, I totally agree, the healthcare system as of today at about 11:45 AM ET is totally fucked. Kiss any shred of freedoms you had left goodbye. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif Were there problems with the healthcare system before this disaster of a so called bill was just signed into law? Sure. But the system was not the disaster it will now become. Instead of a few being fucked, we are ALL fucked. Perfect gov't solution as always. If a few are in pain, better that EVERYONE is in pain. We still had the BEST healthcare system in the world. Not anymore, well, at least not in a few years when all the "goodies" really kick in. We are now headed down the road of destroying it. Nice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

wtf next they'll be trying to socialize education and making me pay for other people's kids to go to school.

Fuk that shit.. i dont have any kids and if those kids want to get educated they ought to go out and git jobs to pay for it themselves.

If sick and dying people want medicine they should have to work for it.

Agreed you don't fix pot holes in the road by putting a fence up along the road.

Actually that is where this bill is going eventually with college. Kind of funny when Clinton offered student loans everyone said it would lead to what Obama just signed. Clinton swore it couldn't.

wat i didn't clinton invented student loans.

But i sure dont want to pay for other people kids to go to school.

We could fix 90% of this countries problems if we made kids work 12 hours a day in factories to pay for their education. We could become the new china with really cheap stuff and super smart kids.

Yeah, well, we're stuck with it now. Another entitlement my kids and their kids will have to pay for. Can't wait to see the solution from these idiots when Social Security, Medicare and the new healthcare entitlement all go bankrupt.

Medicare was originally projected to cost $3 billion per annum on average from 1966 to 1990. Medicare was $440 billion in 2007 (16% of the federal budget) and $599 billion in 2008 (19% of the federal budget). So, of course, we all believe the CBO when they "estimate" the cost of the new healthcare fiasco. Sure. Ooooook. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

And, how we gonna pay for this again? Oh, that's right, tax the rich. Fixed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
