i'm not worried about the amp, i'm worried it might be too much for the subs, they are rockfords p2 12"

But you should be worried about setting the amp properly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Which makes setting the gains a large part of this equation.

Wire the subs in series and you should be safe.
