okay well i want a amp to power a subwoofer on my boat. but the prices are insane compared to car amps. is there anyway i can put a car amp on a boat an be safe?? what precautions could i take to make sure it doesnt get wet? thanls for your help. and btw were would i gorund an amp lol i geuss i could do it on the neg post of the batt. or is there an easier way? p.s. its fresh water not salt

just make sure the amp goes in a nice dry place... it should be too hard... plexiglass box with some small holes for ventialtion... or you could dip the amp in candle wax //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif that would do it

You have to ground to the battery neg post, no real way around that.

I'm assuming that this is a ski boat? If so, under the driver's or passenger's console should keep it out of the spray and away from standing water. Mount it up high and out of the way, and it shouldn't be a problem.

My cousin runs a 2200 watt PPI amp in his wakeboard boat.. all you have to do is find a nice dry place to mount the amp. Would help if the fan had a fan to cool it off depending on the size of the amp
