my buddy thats a manager at a local junkyard called me today cause he knew i was looking for sub/subs..... said a 300zx came in with the back window busted out and had 2 10" kickers facing up in a ported box full of water...he said he pulled them out and hooked them up to a coworkers amp and they sounded fine... what kind of damage can water do to a sub?i can probly get them for a good price but wanna know before i try oh and by what he explained i think theyre cvx

I wouldnt want them.

Theres a chance the coils got rust in them and will fail. On a dmm, if they are 4 ohm subs, then you want a 4 ohm reading on the dmm.

If you can get em for cheap, like 10 bucks each, then no big loss. But anything over that is not worth it imo.

Note to self: dont buy 10" kicker cvx's from MD off ebay anytime soon.
