watch the pats/raiders game

The Pats aren't that good this year...they lost they're two REAL coaches.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah right. Bill Parcells has long been considered a great coach, but he hasn't won anything without the "other" Bill by his side. I think anybody who knows/watches football knows who the best coach in the game is. It is clearly Bill Belichick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What happened when Belichick coached the Browns? They had about the same amount of talent that the Pats had the past few years...you know, not anybody great, but a well-balanced team. The difference between the last few years and the years when he coached the Browns? Better DC and OC with the Pats.

Best coach in the game right now is Jim Mora...or perhaps Bill Cower.

Yeah...but he also played a part in drafting Clarett in the third round.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
So broncos>nfl thats right fuck the raiders. Oh he also had part in drafting Terrell Davis who could have been the best **** RB ever. He made a mistake about clarett he admitted to it its over now can you say superbowl!

and Peyton Manning can't beat the Pats;)
This could be the year.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Maybe the Pats won't make it to the playoff and he wouldn't have to worry about it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It's a good thing I'm not an NFL fan...then I can say I don't care when my team loses.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

When my 2 college teams lose, though...............//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

So not winning in Cleveland is somehow more important than being the defensive coordinator on 2 superbowl teams(Giants), defensive coordinator on another Pats team that got to the superbowl and the head coach for the Patriots THREE superbowl titles. Yeah, because he wasn't a huge success EVERYWHERE must mean he just isn't a good coach.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The difference between The browns situation and the pats is he got better, his personnel people got better, and THEY, together, do the drafting, get the free agents, etc.

Mora or Cowher over Belichick? That is laughable? To be better than Belichick, shouldn't their teams actually have to win something?

I think you might be one of the very few people who DOES NOT think Belichick is the best coach in the NFL. The dominance of the Patriots over the past few years is even more impressive since, in the NFL, all teams are on a level playing field with the salary cap. You can't outspend a team by 100 million. The Pats have lost excellent players since their run started as well. Hell, they won the first 2 without a legit running back and no name receivers. THAT is where drafting/personnel becomes huge(and Belichick is a vital part of that). Tom Brady didn't just show up in Foxboro. Personnel decisions are huge, especially with the salary cap. While other teams will spend most of their money on the "stars," the Patriots spend their money on depth. Hard decisions have to be made(Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, etc), and in Milloy's case, he certainly was expendable(and as much as I love Ty Law, he is too....remember he didn't play after Halloween last year, and that didn't seem to impact the team too much).

Cowher is a better coach, but yet, at home against a Pats team with most of their secondary out with injuries got spanked. Saying that is simply due to the coordinators would be ridiculous.

Sure, I agree he was a vital part of everything, but take away two VERY key parts of his coaching staff and he's left with a pretty big hole to work with. People don't realize how important OCs and DCs are...and those two were probably the best in the NFL. I give credit primarily to them, not Belichick...those are the guys that brought the Pats to the 'Dynasty' (I hate when they're described that way) status. Sure, the guy's a good head coach (that's why he's coaching in the NFL), but I don't think he's the best. Winning something doesn't constitute whether a coach is the best...there are far greater factors.

Ok, so why exactly are Mora and Cowher better coaches. What have either done to even be mentioned in the same breath as Belichick?

I would never downplay the importance of great coordinators(Belichick was one as well), BUT......... have you ever entertained the thought that maybe Belichick had something to do with making Crenell and Weiss great....and not the other way around?

Mora brought the Falcons from nothing to a playoff team in a year...and his first year at that. Cowher managed to stay with one team for an unbelievably long time, and in the NFL, that takes skill.

OCs and DCs make the coaches great, not the other way around. An exception can probably be made in college because the head coach plays an enormous role in recruiting.

Staying with one team for many years is impressive, but how does that make him better than Belichick? The steelers have an incredibly loyal ownership as well. I am not saying Cowher is a bad coach. I just haven't seen anything to indicate he is even in the same conversation as Bill Belichick.

The Falcons have been down for a few years(but they made the superbowl just 6 years ago?). It isn't like they were 2-14 for 10 straight years. A team making a big jump in one year is not exactly rare in the NFL. You have a bad year, get higher draft pick, easier schedule, then you win more games. We see this often. Mora is not the only coach to perform some "miracle" with a team.

Hell, I would take John Fox in Carolina over Mora.

Having had the displeasure of watching Belicheck coach the Browns, subsequently losing control of the team, cutting Bernie for no reason other than his ego, having the most vanilla offensive playbook I've ever seen, over-riding Nick Saban's defensive schemes in lieu of the prevent, and generally being one of the worst coaches for a team and city that is wraught with bad coaches, there's no way in hell I'll every say he's the best coach in the league. I hope he chokes on Tom Brady's dick and dies a miserable, urine-filled death.

Now that is spoken like a true Browns fan and I can respect that(I think your city got the shaft from Art Modell years ago).

A buddy of mine in NJ(Jets fan) hates Belichick too(because he believes if Belichick had stayed with the Jets as head coach, they would have a few superbowl titles by now).
