warrenties though online vendor?

was wondering if anyone have returned a broken item back to an online vendor where they purchase it for repaired or exchange? I bought a kenwood excleon head UN through an online unauthorized vendor and they said they will offer me a 2 year warrenty through them not through kenwood. The HU also doesnt have a serial number. I was worried that if i can't provide them a serial number for the HU, i wont be covered...is that true?

depends on the vendor. if it's their warrenty they'll probably send u another or fix it. kenwood sure won't fix it that's a fact. especially with the serial removed

it was a pain in the *** when i had to get a warranty replacement for some kickers from audiosavings I had to repeatedly email them then threaten to brand bash them for a half hour per day forever before they responded. they gave me the kicker info to send them back and kicker took care of it. just one time they will help you then you are on your own. I will buy authorized from now on again.
