Warranties?

I agree. Doesn't matter who you bought it from, unless abused, the material should be covered under its 1-3 year manufacturer's warranty. Buying from unauthorized dealers doesn't make gear magically have a shorter half life...
I play cd's pretty much every time I am in the car. I take care of my CD's and my equipment.

If you can afford it, and if you have a deck that will do it; I really suggest moving to an iPod or MP3 player. Much, much less hassle, and you can burn them at near CD quality for everyday listening.

Call me crazy but I can tell the difference betweem original recordings on CD's and ripped .wav/apple lossless...

I am switching over to my usb drive slowly though, reguardless...

No I expect companies to stand by their products. Those companies all sold the American people out when they sent our jobs away to China and India.
Well....maybe if the American consumer didn't demand everything for nothing and were actually willing to pay the higher cost for "Made in America" products....these companies wouldn't be forced to offshore their goods. Maybe Americans would still have jobs.

Just keep getting louder. lossless doesn't sound too bad in comparison to all of the interior rattling and your mirrors acting like they want to fall off the vehicle.

I think I am about to drop the warranty issue and I dont think I need to worry about the install issue cause I found a shop local in canada that installs whatever you bring. He said he couldnt careless what brands or if I bought from him...

What that means, is he is going to charge you an arm and a leg to install it and if it breaks even if due to installation; you get to buy more gear and pay again for more installation.

I could be wrong, but be wary of this. My local shop only installs user furnished eq. 1 day out of the week, and charges more per hour than stuff bought from them. They have no intention of warranting equipment bought somewhere else.

Its $75 an hour which is the going rate for everything here in town (windsor ontario)...I think thats better then the shop I just went to (detroit mi) that charges for every little thing (40 for this 80 for that 60 for this 100 for that ext.)
