Do warranties transfer to second/third/ect. owners on used speakers? What if it is BNIB? Even if it were how would the manuf. know? With receipt doesnt that have the purchasers info such as debut or CC. On top of that does the equipment need to be taken back to original dealer?

I am just wondering cause I am thinking used and have been asking people about warranties but now I dont know if its even worth it (asking)...

Unless you are buying from an "authorized dealer" you probably aren't going to have any warrenty at all. Companies look for any way to not replace your product.Bunch of kawk suckeds.
I figured. Even if they were BNIB you would need a receipt and the dealer and purchasers info is on it right? I just read on the hertz site you must take product back to the dealer purchased from to make a claim. That wouldnt work for someone buying from a guy in cali while living in florida...

Some of those kawk su(kers don't even give a warrenty unless you have an authorized dealer do the g-d install, biggest bunch of bast@rds.

If the guy in cali is an authorized hertz dealer , this is called ***** shipping and is a breach in his dealer agreement with electromedia, and you will not be covered by any kind of warranty, other than his word

this is pretty common warranty practice for electronics, must be purchase from an authorized dealer and installed by an authorized dealer to be able to get the full stated warranty, some companys may use a different policy , but this is more common

I have sold a few speakers/subs back in the day to a buddy of mine(every time one blew)and I would just give him the rec. and he would file the warranty claim and get new speakers for the cost of shipping one way!( I'm to lazy and really don't care I blew it once I'll blow it again)so it helped me help him!

Why would a company replace a product if there is no way of determining whether it was misused? Is Chevy supposed to warranty your Camaro when you change out the lifters, cam and put a huge blower on it? Nope.

Is JL supposed to warranty your W6 because you wired it at .5 ohm and put straight clipping to it because your 300w amp wasn't loud enough so you just pegged the gain and turned every boost feature your deck and amp had on? Nope.

If it was dealer installed, they have the sound knowledge that when it left the shop, it was set to work within manufactured guidelines. This doesn't keep morons from screwing with the settings and blowing it, but it does keep most products working for the extent of the warranty. If nothing, it provides a controlled environment that a dealer can feel safe of keeping a profit while warranting the small percentage of products that will fail.

warrenty void if sold by orig owner
Hence why I "gave" them to him! na for real though with the receipt he was able to ship in the 10"s and a set of carbon fiber co-ax speakers and all where replaced within a week. But keep in mind this was through the ANABA group owners of MA audio, clif designs, and just about any other budget woofer you can buy, so you kinda understand why they never asked why it failed they just kinda know it's most likely there products fault!

You have got to be voting for Romney with that attitude.

because my views on warranties involves politics how? I was merely pointing out what it looks like from the companies perspective. If they warranted every consumer caused failure, they wouldn't be in business and you wouldn't have them as an option to purchase from any ways.

I'm actually not voting because I know all politicians have what's best for them in mind and not the average citizen.

From your post, I am sure you are voting for Obama and expect shit for free.
