I would like to buy a box design for 2 SA-12s that will be on 2200 Watts. The max available space is 42w x 22h x 16d i would like to do subs up port back . the give dimension would be a wall which is not what i want to do right now so the height would need to be lower so the subs are not up against the roof. if there is anything else i need to add let me know. also i would like a fairly simple design as I'm new to box building. thank you for your time

92 camaro and i would like to have the port in the middle, but if it would sound better or get louder offset that will work too.

42w x 13 h x 16 d =3.908 before displacement ,port 18.5 " long by 11.5 tall x 3" wide tuning should be at 32 ,port along the drivers side facing back ,subs up ,middle of the box

I'm trying to picture this im my head. so the port goes top to bottom, 3" wide and goes in the box about 15.5" and then turns in for another 3" to get the 18.5" i hope that sounds right that is how i picture it in my head.

Alright I'm going to start building the box in a little bit. i added an extra inch to the height which bump it to 4.25 before displacement. im leaving everything else the same. does anybody else have any input?

by doing this you changed the tuning also.

In all honesty, Port is to small. port velocity is way to high and will be audible.

size is good, but being in a camaro you will hear some port noise. in that box you will have the abilities to reach down into 29hz audible-101hz before it falls flat on its face. good bandwith. Im just worried about the size of the port

yes according to the 12volt box calculator it will be changed by less the 1hz. a box that is 3.9 cubes with a port that is 3 x 11.5 x 18.5 equals 32hz. where as a box that is 4.25 with a port that is 3 x 12.5 x 18.1 equals 32hz. this will be my first complete box that i have built by myself and i have been running all the numbers for the two days. i think my numbers are accurate but i may very well be wrong. Thank you for your input.

i think your missing my main point. PORT AIR VELOCITY. the port is to small. build it and you will hear something a little more than bass frequencies. for more input to help you only if your willing would be having ATLEAST 12in^2 per cubic foot. you have the room so you should take this advice.

I will deffinitly take any advice. how do i get to 12in^2per cube? what changes do i need to make? a wider port? What would be some good dimensions for the port?

I have laid everything thing out to be cut but havn't made any cuts yet. im playing around with a port calc and i think a port 5 x 12.5 x 32 would be alot bigger while maitain around 32. Am i on the right track?
