j/k, i also have the same exact situation as you, but i moved in about 2 months ago and just made sure i clean my toilet alot so when i touches i know its clean. i would rather have it touch the bowl though, then the water.

I do the same thing. I always have hated a dirty toilet but this gives me even more of a reason to keep it clean!
