is there an advantage by porting on the drivers side rather than say.. the top of the box?

like this:

there are huge differences on port placement If I remember correctly.. top/bottom/sides etc all make a difference.. I personally would not want to be sitting in a port opening 24/7 so I would do it on the opposite side

This is what i'd do and it will only cost you 1 sheet of wood to test in your vehicle.

Build your whole wall leaving the baffle to last.

Take a single sub setup and place it inside of the wall.

Cut a piece of wood the height of the wall and cut the width to allow for port.

Secure the piece without gluing to the far left of the vehicle and test.

Then secure the piece without gluing to the far right of the vehicle and test.

Then cut the piece in half and port out the center securing both pieces without gluing and test.

Then cut a whole new sheet of wood based on same principle and test for port on bottom vs port on top.

you must have never had a port directly behind you?

My last wall i just tore down i had 300sqin behind me off 21kw. The pressure gets loaded on the opposite side of the car. Also, i'm in a seat so i can't really feel the air either.
