how come everyone can get the 1000ca batteries at their walmart for cheap but i cant? i dont even see a 1kca...biggest my walmarts got is a 875ca one for like 70 bucks...

anyone in southern california know any walmarts that carry that shit? dont put this in the electrical section. this is a car audio purchase question, not an electricity question

i know autozone carries duralast 1k for $9x.00. im pretty sure its still a johnson controls brand, so i dont wanna pay 20 bucks extra for it when its the same **** thing as the everstart just a different name, and when i can just use the battery i got now, and exchange at walmart...

You know, I went to walmart the other day, and I couldn't find the batteries that I have right now (the 1000 ca ones).
I'm wondering if they stopped carrying them?
maybe cause you bought them all out ya jerk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh and anyone know how walmarts exchange policy works? i grabbed the wrong group battery for my ford, and the terminals are on the wrong sides, and when flipped around the cables dont reach. but i made due, but since the new alty is coming today i want to wxchange for a fresh battery...do i just make up some bullshit to them and exchange? or do they load test them? cause exhanging for the right group size would help clean the look up of the install anyways

They never checked my batteries when I exchanged them.

well that is for a battery thats exactly the same right?

i would like to get a different battery. would i get credit for my returned battery and just pay the difference? or would i only get the "core" charge and be forced to *** out the rest of the cash?

Sorry for the stupid question, but what does the ca rating do? whats so good about 1000ca and whats so bad about 750ca? See in canada our ratings dont go that way. And a good marine battery costs like 250, not 70.... so could someone plz explain? thanks

ca is cranking amps = how many amps it can put out at 32 degrees F

cca is cold cranking amps = how many amps it can put out at 0 degrees F

the higher the rating the more capacity it has, thats all. the more capacity you have the more your amplifer can draw from it while still keeping voltage up.

but your car uses your alternator anyways. but to me its just nice to always have that extra reserve just incase ya know. honestly, if you got a good enough alternator that provides adequete amperage for your system, youll never pull any from the battery, and can get away with a stock one (which will only be used for starting anyways)

anyways, i ended up getting the 850ca 700cca one, as it was the largest capacity group 65 battey they had. did the big 3 (well big 2 since i dont understand the whole alternator to chassis ground...), and put in my new 200a mean green alt. wal mart exchanged my old battery, and just made me pay the differnce which was 20 bucks.

edit: alternator to chassis ground?! no wonder i didnt understand it...cause its a engine block to chassis ground. reading > me
