W6v2 on 300wrms?

Well I kind of decided I wanted a JL W6V2 but then I realized they only come in D4 configuration, which is retarded, and means I can only give it 300wrms. Is it even worth my time to mess with it at 300wrms or will it perform well at that? If not what else ought I look at for a good sounding sub with 6000wrms at 4ohms to give it? Cadence TXA-6004.

Well it looks like it is actually a 6.75 ohm load, so maybe it will get more than 300wrms?

If I can give it 300rms bridged into an 8 ohm load, wouldn't I be giving it more bridged into 6.75 ohms?

ah i thought you were doing 2 ohm

but the amp will still see the 8 ohms...even tho you measured them a 6.75...thats the resting measurement...once the coils heat up that will change.

There are plenty of other subs that will work better with what you have.

I am having a heck of a time finding a good sounding sub that will work in 1 Cube Sealed, with a mounting depth of no more than 6.75", on 600wrms at 4 ohm, and doesn't have a huge basket that will interfere with mounting in a stealth box that goes under my rear seat. (If basket is too broad it will hit on an edge that sticks out. This is daunting.

12w3v3 or a 13w3v3.woould be better for that power if you want to stick with jl.

RE used to be an option. I used to run an HC back in the day on a JBL 1200.1 and it was great. Then for X-mas 06 I bought my brother an SE for well under $200 shipped now look at them. Now their stuff is priced into the realm of the ridiculous anymore. And I don't even think it sounds that great. Am looking at the Dayton, ID, and Shiva-X. 300 Watts is enough to make it sound good, this are efficient subs, they don't need a lot of power. I have a pair of 10w6v2 in a sealed box off a 700 watts amp, and they sounded good on my civic. Right now I have them right next to me on my room, waiting to be installed on my mazda3 hatch...they will be louder in this car.

maybe if you would have the correct amp for the sub it wouldnt be retarded, get a JL amp
