w6v1 vs w6v2

How are they different? Please compare them and tell me what a w6v1 sounds like? How it performs? and the output? I have heard the w6v2 but not the w6v1 trying to help friend build his system.

Same thing! but the V2 is a dual vc set up,but I would go with the dvc setup,becuase it give u more wiring options

the original w6 was dual 6 ohm. it has been around for quite some time was the "elite" of sq subs back in the mid 90's

Okay, the JL w6v1 is like (in construction) a w3v1 with a double stack magnet and a pole vent. So the w6 would theoretically have better cone control etc...

W6 v2's have the fancy basket/cone like the w7, but as Knockin says they really don't seem to differ much other than that.

However, w6v1's are hard to find in good shape and expensive. People tended to beat them like red headed stepchildren.

Yea, I was questioning everyone's responses here.

The w6v1 almost equalling the v2? That can't be possible...

And I was right with squeak clearing things up.

with 2 w6v2's I am able to achieve what i was doing with 6 w3's in JL's enclosures.

so you are comparing apples and oranges here! Even though same company 2 different products!

w6v2's for the win

Neither are loud subs but yeah, both have great SQ, ive heard both, v2 is louder than the v1 in general (all alignments ive heard with v1 where sealed where as ive heard ported and sealed for the v2) but over all neither are loud, but once agian both have good to great SQ. W6v2 are top notch SQ subs.
