w0's compared to Assassin?

My Avalanches will get louder because the back plate is chrome.... chrome adds at least 6 dbs!!!

So a fancy cone and terminal makes a sub? If you base your purchases off of that. I feel sorry for you. I geuss roadmaster subs are better than the assasins too because they use spun aluminum cones and nickeplated push terminals and similar rated power handling.

First of all calm your azz down......dayum! Second of all, I KNOW I have read before that a subs build quality does add to making the sub better......so push terminals DO add to a sub, not subtract from it. The assassin appears to be a standard, everyday sub you can build anywhere. Whereas the JL subs are much better constructed with more technology.

Im NOT saying the assassin isnt a good sub, and definately better than the one next to it, but where is the technology in the assassin???? Looks like the subs are pretty much the same without the difference in motor size. Maybe its in the internals??? Who knows??? Maybe?

For an entry level sub, I love the W1. Gets loud off of low, low power and it sounds good.

Some here believe that JL is the "Evil Empire" for some reason. Mostly because they think their products are overpriced, and they are all about marketing.

Although no one disagrees with their build quality which is funny because from a consumer standpoint we want the highest quality products (not that JL has the Highest quality) for our money, & in america quality usually comes with a premium pricetag.

I made a thread about this exact same issue a few months back.....basically I said with JL you are paying for all the bells and whistles (technology) and all the patented things that go into their subs.

You pay for what you get. This includes other expensive subs from RF, Kicker, Orion and any mainstream sub that has alot going into it.

This is why you should shut the hell up right now, I have heard the JL W0s, W3 v1 and v2s, as well as the W1 and the Assassin PWNS them all in nearly everything. Although I would have to admit, the Wo/1 does have slightly better SQ, but not much.
Besides, most here would agree, the logoless, all black dustcap and simple design of the assassin, as well as all other AA products makes them look **** sexy.

:fyi:There havent been many improvements to the design of a conventional loudspeaker in over 30 years. Saving a few technologies such as XBL and DM NOTHING has changed. The assasin is nothing more than a well designed overhung alignment (dont quote me on that). Copper shortening rings to reduce inductance and properly set up suspension. Thoes look rather sexy to me for somer reson minus the cone. Needs to be a mattte black. Nothing a little paint wont fix.

I found the Blade terminal VS. Push Terminal hillarious. Now with my experience with JL audio subs. any of the new v2 stuff sounds horindous (save the w6v2) The w3v3 gets loud and sounds better than the w3v2 but still lacks the sq that the original w3 had. So in my opinion Assasin>JL w1....and yes I have listened to both.
