Yes, I would have gotten the TV. I just moved into a much larger room (went from 12'x12' to 28'x21'), and my old 27" tube is much too small from my viewing distance. I planned on waiting till after Xmas to get a new TV, but since I got the money now, might as well go for it.
I owe my parents a few hundred as they covered my car payments while I've been out of work, so some money is going to them. I have to buy Xmas presents, so some is to that.
I'm a little happy that I finally got this money, because I was supposed to have gotten it months ago. My employer, Circuit City, delayed this by a couple months by not responding to my Insurance company asking them for a Wage Statement, which ALMOST got my claimed denied. After flipping on a ***** at CC, I finally got the statement sent to my insurance company, and got my money.
As far as medical complications, everything related to my accident has been covered by my insurance company under No-Fault Insurance. I also have full medical coverage under my father's union, so that's not a worry.
As for the TV, it's a 720p/1080i set, it won't do 1080p. But from the distance I'll be sitting, the additional cost of getting something that will play a 1080p source (min, $200 for the HD-DVD add on for Xbox360), and the fact that my cable company only broadcasts in 720p, 1080p isn't something I want right now.
