cause that's what insurance money is made for, new toys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
It's lost wages dude.

Lost wages...money that I would have made, had I not been in a car accident.

I pay EXTRA on MY car insurance, so that MY lost wages are covered.

What I do with these lost wages is up to me.

true.

seems like you're just treating it like a hand out.

if you had been working the whole time, would you have saved up and still be buying a tv now?

if yes, then congratulations on the tv!

if not, i hope you do not have any medical complications and need the money down the line.

just thinking cautiously. i obviously don't know your situation, so if you feel a tv is the right thing for you, then go for it!

maybe you should also get an hddvd or bluray dvd player.

my brother just picked up the xbox 360 add on and king kong looks amazing in 720p and 1080i, and if you get a newer tv you should also be able to do 1080p!

I like the new Samsung DLP that uses LED's for it's light source. Been demoing it for a few weeks now. Best DLP we've seen.(TV video engineers are a tough group)

Which model?

I'd love to splurge on a higher-end model, but I don't want to go above the $1100 price on the 4666w.

Yes, I would have gotten the TV. I just moved into a much larger room (went from 12'x12' to 28'x21'), and my old 27" tube is much too small from my viewing distance. I planned on waiting till after Xmas to get a new TV, but since I got the money now, might as well go for it.

I owe my parents a few hundred as they covered my car payments while I've been out of work, so some money is going to them. I have to buy Xmas presents, so some is to that.

I'm a little happy that I finally got this money, because I was supposed to have gotten it months ago. My employer, Circuit City, delayed this by a couple months by not responding to my Insurance company asking them for a Wage Statement, which ALMOST got my claimed denied. After flipping on a ***** at CC, I finally got the statement sent to my insurance company, and got my money.

As far as medical complications, everything related to my accident has been covered by my insurance company under No-Fault Insurance. I also have full medical coverage under my father's union, so that's not a worry.

As for the TV, it's a 720p/1080i set, it won't do 1080p. But from the distance I'll be sitting, the additional cost of getting something that will play a 1080p source (min, $200 for the HD-DVD add on for Xbox360), and the fact that my cable company only broadcasts in 720p, 1080p isn't something I want right now.

touche

my brother has the xbox 360 in his bedroom at our apartment, so the room is quite small.

the tv is a 30" widescreen, and at that size they don't really even offer 1080p because it's just not worth it.

i was watching king kong in 720p and was thoroughly impressed!

EDIT: that animation you have is very annoying, but the peter griffin pic almost makes up for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
