w00t just bought a new phone

ive got sprint... had 3 or 4 other carriers sprint was the best in my area... and unlimited texting !
I've had Sprint for about three years now, never really dropped any calls. It usually isn't the service that drops calls, it is the phone itself that causes that to happen. The Sanyo Katana is a good phone, I currently have the Sanyo MM-8300.

I have had it now for 18 months, works wonderfully, excellent reception.

Have a Nextel BlackBerry 7100i, after paying over $100/mo and getting no service in my own home and dropping 1/2 of my calls, finally switched to Sprint.
Plan is $40+taxes...

I never had a probelm with my nextel till sprint bought them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

my fiance's parents had so many problems with nextel that they paid the 500 bucks to cancel the 2 lines they had to switch to sprint. they were a bit pissed when sprint bought them 3 months later lol.

Got the phone 2 days ago...like it thus far. Doesn't have every feature, but gets the job done for me...all I was looking for was something small, and with bluetooth...camera wasn't a big deal to me, but I'll take it.

A lot of people have complained that the Katana is flimsy, feels pretty solid to me, feels more solid then a RAZR IMO.

Only gripe I have is the lack of .wma and .mp3 ringtones, have to use .qcp (Qualcomm's doing). I added a bunch of ringtones, but they don't sound all that great, and they are low as hell in volume (a lot of people have complained about this).

As far as the service, Sprint>Nextel. Sounds odd since they are now basically one in the same, but the Sprint network is so much more stable then that of Nextel (maybe an issue of CDMA vs iDen?) I've gotten signal everywhere, get 2-3 bars in my basement where I was almost always without a signal on my Blackberry.

I d/l'ed Opera Mini on the phone and it's actually pretty quick...I'd say a little quicker then the internet was on my Blackberry.

Anyway, pretty pleased so far.

not sure who you use for ringers john but i tend to use d-d-n.com and they're pretty good.

i don't get the big deal about phones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif i thought a phone is you pick it up, dial and talk to someone? my last phone was a nokia and the battery was held in with scotch tape, and a chunk was missing by the antena but it still worked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lol.

I have a thing with phones. I don't really use a lot of minutes, but I do a ton of text messaging and play a shitload of games on em, especially in between classes.
