Yep. And no possibility of having to dispose of highly toxic batteries down the road...or having to be dependent on regular gasoline at all...Europe and VW have gotten the message about highly fuel efficient diesels for a while.

ya its a shame the media has convinced most Americans that hybrids are good for the environment when its the exactly opposite... They dont ever talk about the weight of these hybrids, where and how the batteries come about, all the factories that are needed to created the batteries. Or that we already have a technology that can produce 50MPG...

In fact after its all said and done the processes to get these ion batteries carbon footprint is a good amount greater than that of a regular vehicles carbon footprint in its lifetime! So much for being green.

Yup to bad people don't realize this. Batts banks have to be changed out over time with them.

The biggest thing with German cars is that they are pretty reliable cars but if and when they brake they cost some big bucks to repair. I would go with a Honda or Toyota the civic Si is a very fun car to drive and good on gas the only draw back it that it take premium "but so dose the TDI" I like Vw do not get me wrong I just think there are better cars out there for the money.
