A forum, like the internet as a whole, gives everyone a voice. The problem with that is those least qualified to use that voice, tend to exercise it the most. For an educated reader this isn't so much a problem as an annoyance. For those that really don't know a lot about the subject in question and are looking to learn, it can be very difficult to distinguish the facts from total crap passed off as fact. Sarcasm tends to be lost on these people, too. They don't know enough about the topic to recognize it and the vocal inflection that might clue them in otherwise is missing.

i only got into car audio this past spring. i have hearing loss in one ear from ear infections and then playing drums in a metal band for the past 12 years.

i never got into car audio bc i felt like it would be 'playing with fire,' since my hearing was already shot.

then i saw a commercial for ridiculously small hearing aids, and realized that even if I go deaf, i wont have to wear huge ear-muff lookin hearing aids.

it was tough pickin it up, i think one of the first questions i asked was 'if my subwoofer cone is smashing into the rubber subwoofer grille, is that a bad thing?'

i like the fact that, to a much greater extent than on any other car audio forums, people appear to be more willing to help. its gotta be a pain in the *** when someone asks what ohm's law is all about for some of u guys that are up there in the 1,000's in terms of ur number of posts, but most of the time, people will explain it.

compared to the bodybuilding.com forums, people on these forums are much more respectful, and i have never gotten any advice on these forums that later proved to be unwise, or flat out wrong.

i hate no0bs and people telling other people to use the SEARCH function constantly. Not on every forum, but a lot of them....

most of my likes are already stated...
