I have a pair of subs with a blown vioce coil. I have them wired to the other voice coil so they work, but my question is can they only take half of what they could before now? Thanks

when 1 voice coil is fired the whole sub is done. Wiring to only 1 voicecoil causes the thermal power handling to drop drastically as well as changes all of the T/S parameters.

It's not a good idea to wire only one coil. When you have a dvc sub you are to wire it in either parralel or series from day 1. If one coil blows it's time for a new sub or a recone.
