If your subs can be wired to 1 ohm, get the Brutus. If they can only be wired down to 2 ohm, get the Viper.

The Viper is NOT 1 ohm stable, the Directed 1500.1 is. They *are* different amps, or they are at least configured differently. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the assumption that all Vipers did their rated power at 2 ohm and not 1.

dont worry the viper is 1ohm stable... it does 1200... i guess

it does around 700 at 2 ohms... and so forth down...

the viper is a good amp i guess... at first i didnt like it because

its a lot more "ricer" looking than my old memphis 1000d... its

got lights on it... in fact the lights light up a nifty magnetic snake

logo...

its not too big... but a hell of a lot bigger than my old memphis...

and its got loads of plastic crap and a mirror making it look cheesy...

oh... i hate the terminal adapters too...

but i would still say its better than a brutus...

you shouldnt wire it to 3 ohms if you are getting a viper.
i have one, and it is going to be for sale as soon as i get the visonik from thunder

peace
Cool, iamamp3pimp Please PM on how much the Viper 1200 is when you have it on sale. I am highly intrested //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryexcited.gif.c26a15f316d23068607f36ddacd7a7ab.gif

the viper will do between 500~600 i believe at 3 ohms. not good for a w7.

you want 1200w, wire it at one ohm ONLY. otherwise, its not the amp to choose.

vipers do have lights. i also do not like the terminal adapters. not fun to use at all. i wish they had regular terminals, im thinking of getting some and hooking my own **** terminals up. *sigh*

good amps tho.

Gawd everyone is getting my amp, I hate how it's the new fad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
hahaha its becoming a forum boner and pretty soon its gona become overrated just like hifonics!!!! i just purchased one from ike sooo i guess im part of the problem...

They are very dependable amps but they wont become overrated. They kind of can't, since they were a 2002 production model that I think only lasted one year. I just sold mine so I could get my Chevelle, I got it off of ebay through teamcsw, I recommend you look them up, $220 +shipping for a d1200.1 with a 90day warranty.

Also, teamcsw has amps refurbished by DEI, I believe ike's amps are refurbished by ike themselves.

And also, the person who said they are not 1ohm stable should look them up. The d600.1 and the d1200.1 are 1ohm nominal amplifiers, the d2500.1 is the one that puts out its power @ 2ohms, and they are not very stable below that.

AND another thing, after reviewing the 1500d and the d1200.1, I have been able to find no differences besides the location of the equalization media and the power terminals. The board is identical, transistors are the same design, size and location, capacitors are exactly the same farads and same in location as well, withthe same amount of MOSFETS.

ahh shit, i really hope the dei 1500d isnt reburbished by ike.... i just bought one, i dont think they are, thier an authorized dei dealer, i dunno. kinda nervous now
