Viper 5701 sucks

My Viper 5701 wont respond back to the 2 way fob. I have tried disconnecting the vehilce bat, pulling the 15 amp fuse, all 3 30 amps, tried a new antenna cable and antenna, tried using a 10k ohm resistor wired within an inch or 2 from the brain on the blue antenna wire, deleting the remotes, relearning them. Still nothing.

All the functions of the remote work just fine as a 1 way but I get the out of range error tone and flashes. What to try now?

yes the 5701 had the most problems.

does your 1 way work fine?

its either the remote or the brain, but probably the remote

Yeah the 1 way is fine and the 2 way is just fine as a 1 way except for the annoying *** beeping from the failure.

Did you install the unit yourself? If so where did you buy it from. I'm sure there are still a ton of the bad 5701s floating around out there. If you call DEI with the # off of the brain they should be able to tell you if it is one of the bad units or not

Yes, many bad brains out there. The resistor trick only seemed to work for a short time. New antenae and antenae wire is the best fix. If your brain wasn't sent in for the newer revised version it should be.
