viper 5701 = CR@P

My Viper 5701 wont respond back to the 2 way fob. I have tried disconnecting the vehilce bat, pulling the 15 amp fuse, all 3 30 amps, tried a new antenna cable and antenna, tried using a 10k ohm resistor wired within an inch or 2 from the brain on the blue antenna wire, deleting the remotes, relearning them. Still nothing.

All the functions of the remote work just fine as a 1 way but I get the out of range error tone and flashes. What to try now?

I just installed this thing last sunday and it has never worked right.

I've installed a bunch and have never experienced any issues. Maybe try and re-learn the remotes is the only thing I can think of.

Done that several times. This is a common issue with these but non of the fixs have worked for me.

i have the 5901 and after about a month mine stopped paging me..was told buy viper tech that i needed a new remote..lolwut there like 100 bucks

Good news I have a 100% warranty on this hing. But I just installed it and that warranty wont start for 60 days after purchase. I bought it from a 3rd party. The seller off ebay should get this fixed before I even bother with that warranty.

I was thinking remote too but I need to find someone installing one here locally so I can borrow a remote from them when they are doing the wires and Il program their remote to mine to see if it works.

take the brain and unplug it and place it on a bench. Short all the terminals on the side with the main harness opposite the heavy guage harness for 10 to 15 mins. This should reset the brain completely. Thas was a common problem on the first run of these alarms it was corrected in May to those who havent run into it recently.
