Video cards?

I wouldn't buy anything less than a 7900/X1950 series graphics card ...
as he said before he isn't a huge online gamer so why go for the huge card? save some money and get the 7600 cheapest bestest(lol) route to go... I mean its not what i would choose because im a hardcore gamer. but for an average user he only needs the 7600. also on a college budget

but yeah kizzo if money isn't a HUGE issue i would prolly upgrade a little.. prolly to a 7900-7950 because the 7600 will be obsolete in about a year..

i guess ATI's new card that is Dx10 is called the R6 and has a processor on it... which in my opinion is stupid as **** because you have to drop down from gddr3 memory and it just doesn't make sense to me

Uh, because the 7600 GT is not much less and is like half the speed of the 7900 GS ... Not to mention the 7900 GS has HUGE overclocking potential, which will prolong the useful life of the card ... 7600 GT doesn't have much overclocking potential, it can't even handle some games at medium settings these days (i.e. Rainbow Six: Vegas) ... It's a waste of money, IMO, to get something which will last you maybe another year before you have to upgrade. At least the 7900 GS, if you overclock it, will last you 1.5, maybe even 2 years before you'll have to upgrade.
The X1950 Pro doesn't have very good OCing potential either, but it's competitive w/ the 7900 GT stock for the same price as the 7900 GS, so that can be forgiven ...

7950 GT is a waste of money ... Either take the X1950 XT (which kills the 7950 GT for the same price) or upgrade to the 8800 GTS 320 MB ...
true but as he stated he hasn't even overclocked his e6300 and he said he didnt know much about hardware or anything.

but if it was my vote i would have to pick the 7950 or the 800 320mb im not to much on the ATI fan

the 8800 has ALOT of room for overclocking i have heard some great things about that card

but then again you have the college budget and if you are looking to save money go with the 7600gt

if money is somewhat of an issue then go with 7900gs

and if money isn't really an issue and you love gameing and dont want to update for like 1 year or 2 i would go with the 8800gts

Again, 7600 GT is a waste of money ... and it's loud as hell (annoying) ... I take it you've never owned one ...
Cards I've owned in the last year:

Gigabyte 6600 GT Turboforce (Nov 2005 - Current) (Old computer)

eVGA 7600 GT KO (Apr - Nov)

Asus X1950 Pro (Nov - Jan)

XFX 8800 GTS 640 MB (Jan - Current)

The eVGA 7600 GT is faster than the BFG one you linked to ... and it couldn't even run Need For Speed: Most Wanted adequately at high settings @ 1280x768 ...
XFX 6600gt older computer

BFG 7600gt (now running in my spare)

(current)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130071

running in SLI my computer pwns urs

e6400 core 2 duo running overclocked at 3.6 stable

2gb Buffalo firestix running at 4-4-4-12 timing at around 950mhz-1066mhz

asus P5b Deluxe (mobo)

yes the 7600 is loud but only on start up. I dont know where your getting all your specs from the 7600gt. its been a very reliable card for me. (on my spare) i also got my card for 76dollars AR from newegg so.. yeah for the price i couldn't pass it up and i liked the card

I run all the major games at all settings high 1280x1024 on Dual 19" monitors

Counter Strike Source

Half Life 2

C & C 3

Need for speed

Farcry

WOW

Rainbow six

Fear

and the topper oblivion (that one i can only run at medium)

i experience no ghosting whatsoever temps are all normal so ur evga must ****

Oh, well then ... GG
in all honesty it was kinda a waste.. the best game out there graphics wise i would say is oblivion it runs it no sweat but i really want i video game that utilizes DX10 with Vista it will prolly be a few years before those 8800's will break a sweat and by then i will have upgraded by then
