Use alpine era-g320 with Kenwood dnx 9140?

I'm having the dnx-9140 installed in a couple days. I was wondering if I should couple it with the alpine eq I have laying around. Would it help with more refined controls or would I just be adding in unnecessary piece?

Definetly unecessary. That deck has 7 channel surround sound and a 13 band EQ built in. Don't hook that outdated EQ up in the mix. Hang onto it or sell it on here.
