Use alpine baffle?

Hey guys, just got my alpine SPR-60 6.5" in today and they came with a plastic baffle/mount thingy with some holes drilled in it. I had planned on using a 1/2" mdf baffle between the speaker and the door panel. Should I put this plastic baffle (it's only 1/4" thick) between the speaker and the mdf? Or is it pretty much useless? Thanks guys!

I always keep these around the shop b/c I use them all the time. that's just my personal preference. I screw these to the panel than the speaker to the baffle. in your case I would not use them but i'd keep them around for later.
