I know this kinda goes against what some people are saying, but just be honest. Or if you choose to lie, make sure it's believable (don't get caught in the lie). About a year ago, I was late for school and I was on a real straight country back road so I was flying to school, trying to make it there on time. There was a car right on my ***. We went over a hill and there was a cop, coming towards me. So I just kept going and never looked back. I got to school and told a few of my friends what happened so they'd cover for me and tell the cops they saw me on another road coming to school. About an hour later, I was called the office. The cops told me they had seen a car like mine travelling at a high rate of speed and asked if it was me. I answered them honestly and they said they were going to call my parents.
They didn't write me a ticket, but I did have to go to court. The only reason I'm driving right now is because I answered them honestly and the SRO at my school helped me out a lot. If I would've lied and tried to get my friends to cover for me, I probably wouldn't be driving until I turn 18. My license was suspended for two months and I had to go to an 8 hour driving school, but luckily I didn't get any points for it on my license. Appearantly the car behind me slammed his brakes on and they didn't do anything to him because they couldn't find him. We both went to the same school so I guess they just didn't try hard enough to find him.
