Referencing George Carlin, when the hell did urban start to mean black? There are plenty of whites, latinos, asians, and other races who live in the inner city.

To answer the question, it doesn't matter what you wear. Most of that designer clothing is just to show off a name brand with the express reason of identifying with some group. I fail to see how buying an overpriced article of clothing says anything about you more than you care about your image. So if you bought something that cost 10x as much because it has some designers name on it, it doesn't matter if you are white or black. You still look like an idiot with money to waste.

as asked already, i want to know how to act like any race and how does urban mean black? urban means urban. Now if i painted myself and got a nappy hair wig i guess i could be acting black but other then that this thread gets one giant //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

BTW nothing but khakis and plain colored T's and collared T's in my closet, i'm a Hustla baby //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

why an idiot? why not just someone who 'cares about their image'?
Because there are perfectly well-made clothing available without those designer tags at considerable savings.

Additionally quite often those "designer labeled" clothes aren't as well made as, for example, your average pair of 501s

all depends on the specifics.

so spending money on something you like makes you an idiot? everyone on this forum is guilty of that...

Spending money on something for no reason other than the name found on a tag somewhere, in my estimation, makes them an idiot.

If the motivation for the purchase is other than that one specific reason then the assumption of idiocy doesn't apply.

ur right, but why be guilty on purpose? 1 can buy a rocawear shirt for $125 or a bootleg one for $30. wear theose 2 shirts out to mickey d's and nobody can tell the difference.

i've never seen a roca/fubu/phat farm etc.. piece of clothing that was plain, without any design. Including the name of the company, which i don't wear but i do like ALOT of them. even if it's just the text the company name is printed on they are unique. as stated i'm a plain Tee kinda guy but if not for the fact that i already feel thousands of eyes on me all the time i'd probably rock alot of them.

true. any worthwhile designer won't stamp a label all over their clothes anyway.
