UPS f*cks up again...it was my turn this time..

So, as you guys know from seeing my other thread, I FINALLY ordered a pair of ID OEM's from HessDawg (great guy BTW). I created a thread (link below) and took a few pictures of just ONE of the mids, while the other chilled in the box.

So I took the other mid out of the packaging, took both out in the garage, took one of my door panels off, wire some shit up, grab the mid and notice the frame is bent to shit. Luckily it was just the lip, and the actual basket wasn't damaged at all. Now the shipping box wasn't very beat up at all, and the mids are packaged decently enough.

So I carefully put the ***** in the vice and straightened it out the best I could, again, luckily its bent where one of the four screw holes are, so I'm hoping when I screw it in after I make some new baffles, it will straighten the frame out even more.

I'm livid right now, not only because of that, but I destroyed one of my baffles trying to get it out because the motor on the OEM is so large it fits in my stock speaker hole with about 1/8" clearance all around it.

I honestly just think the box was dropped on its side, if they didn't come damaged from the factory.

I would take some pics, but that mid is currently in the car, and it sounds pretty good so far.

Glad they finally came.. that sucks they're damaged..

Make two baffles. Put on on the top of the lip, and one on the bottom. Screw together, and it should straighten out a little bit.

I pretty much got it fixed, for the most part, I'm pretty sure when I screw it in it will be fine.

Thanks mang. It's not even worth filing a claim to me, because by the time everything gets straightened out and I go X amount of months without music, I'd rather just drop $90 on a new pair and pay HessDawg an extra $30 to send them 2-day air. And who knows if UPS would ever give me/HessDawg anything anyway. is there dents on the inside of th box where the rca connections hit? looks like those got slammed pretty hard check the inside of the box might shwo if it hit or not

The box looks fine, I'm thinking it might have been dropped, these mids weigh at least 5 lbs a piece, and dropping them from 4 or 5 feet up could do this type of damage.

Same thing just happened to my brothers 4kw, seller did not package worth a shit but they still managed to rip a 10" hole in the box and take a chunk outa the heatsink
