UPS claims?

so i traded some stuff with somebody off of another forum.

my package got here and was broke/ is no longer of use to me. i just filed a claim with UPS and emailed the guy who shipped the items to me to file a claim as well.

just curious, for those of you who had to file a claim, how long does it usually take to receive a check from them?

the package was insured for $200. replacement cost for the item is about $180. so how long am i looking at before i actually see a check out of them?

its a LONG tedious process and if every detail isnt perfect you will be denied ... including the shipper following all the requirements .. also once you file they dont just send you a check ... there is a think a 5 step process ... dont be to hopefull to get any money from ups ..

Took 2 months for me to recieve the check when I had a claim filed .

it was packaged well IMO. i took pictures already. should i email them to UPS or will they get in contact with me and ask me for pictures?

once i got the green light for refund. it took about six weeks. i just picked up my check yesterday.....
