Upgrading

I currently am running two alpine type r's. What do you suggest if i was to upgrade these? I was looking into the following:

Alpine Type X

Memphis MOJO

RE XXX

Please comment on these and feel free to add more suggestions

depends on power, space, and what you are looking for sq/spl???? what size...what size are the r's you currently have?

I drive a 97 honda civic so obviously i have limited space. I currently have (2) 12 in Type R's and are being powered by a hifonics BXI-2006. The type r's just arent enough. Is this enough info?

What size box are those r's in... that should really be a decent system (as far as SPL)

Maybe thats the problem then because im definently not satisfied with SPL. Im not sure what the size of the box is. It seems pretty small. Its sealed. Im wondering if a box upgrade will make a significant difference or not.

HUGE!!!, not to mention cheapest way to upgrade. Get someone to build you a box, or build one your self... take up everybit of that trunk.

BJ Fish wanted to build me a box at 5 cubic ft. But im not sure how to measure my trunk to know if this fits.....i dont think this will fit though...its just a little civic.

yes deffinently. sealed boxes are more based on SQ systems. Put both of them into a ported box or get 1 15" if space is a issue and you will be more impressed.

you could probably squeeze 5 cubes in there. Just measure from back of car to the rear seat. Then side to side, probably inside of trunk bars. and then measure how far up it can go with trunk still shutting. Do all that in inches.. Multiply them all together and divide by 1728, and you have most cubes possible

if your car is anything like Kris's car.... don't make the box more then roughly 12"-14" tall or it will NOT fit in the trunk without having to damage your car and rip off some peices.

So measure from the bottom of my trunk to the top, and then from side to side, and then from the seat to the very back,....multiply it out and then divide by 1728 to get cu ft.?

that's right. BUT KuSama said to leave some room between the top so you can still get the enclosure in the vehicle.

i drive a 92 civic and my box is 17 inches tall, and I had to pry the ****er to get it in.. just check out my pics in sig

i will never make that mistake again.
