Upgrading to the Big 3

Ok I am just trying to clear a few things up before I actually do this just to make sure I will do it right.

So, from your battery, you have the power wire going to the power terminal on your amplifier and then your amplifier is grounded to the chassis of the vehicle. From here the current needs a way to get back to the negative battery terminal, and that way is through the first of the "Big 3," the battery negative to chassis wire. Upgrading this wire will "upgrade" the circuit between your battery and your amp by giving the current a larger path to flow through to get back to the battery.
So I run another ground wire from where my amp is already grounded back up to the negative battery terminal right? Since my amp kit is already a 4ga i should be ok running and 4ga back up there if that is what im supposed to do?

here is what you upgrade...

1. ALTERNATOR POSITIVE POST TO CAR BATTERY POSITIVE

2. CAR BATTERY NEGATIVE TO CAR CHASSIS (the body of the car... as close as possible)

3. ENGINE BLOCK TO CAR CHASSIS (once again the body of the car... as close as possible)

edit: spelling....

ty jesus =) and oldschool

got another question though....

these directions are coming from

http://forum.sounddomain.com/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=007801;p=1

2) When fusing your alternator to battery positive wire, fuse it toward the battery end of the wire. As IMTfox points out later in this thread, the battery will explode if it's overloaded, while the alternator will only burn out its regulator which won't cause much damage except to the alternator itself. Exploding batteries are no fun!
I would have done it like today if it hadnt of been for that little paragraph right there. I dont know who this has happeneed to but what would cause this to happen? I might try to do 1 of the Big 3 first and see if it helps any, if it does, i'll just leave it at that but i really dont want to blow my battery or alt.
