Upgrading this Summer, need some suggestions

Yo, I should have some free time this summer and more funds so I want to upgrade my sound system. Like I've said before, I know its not the greatest but I'm not gonna redo it until I get a new vehicle (with more space :O). Here's my specs:

Kenwood 6x9s (just the front door speakers, rears are still factory)

12 inch Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12 sub

Sony XM-460GTX 600 watt amp

Some probox made for single cab trucks (apologies for not knowing the name).

Set of tweeters (again, don't know the name..was a gift)

Pioneer DEH-2400UB Head unit

Sub is only thing running off a sub.

What I would like to get includes:

New tweeters (these distort at loud volume, or should I just amplify the ones I have?)

New speakers for the back, the kenwood 6x9s sound great so probably just another set of those

Another Kendwood Excelon 12

New box (I hear custom is better and cheaper. As it so happens, I have an uncle that is a pretty crafty carpenter so if anyone has good plans for an F150 03 single cab 2 12's box, that'd be grand ha)

anddddd amplifying the door speakers (would 200 watts be enough? I got a friend that has an amp that he's willing to sell)

Thank you!

If I were you, I'd go with a 4 channel amp that matches the RMS ratings on those speakers.

That Pioneer HU doesn't have 6 pre-outs (front, rear, and sub), you're gonna want one with those (for simplicities sake). I'd check out the Kenwood KDC-BT652U at Crutchfield or OCS, it's a good receiver with a good price. Plus you'll get bluetooth audio streaming, which is worth it's weight in gold.

Why exactly should I go with a 4 channel amp for the speakers?
Can you explain the reasoning behind the new head unit?
The HU because you can expand with more ease, it has more outputs that go to a amp, and a 4 channel because also, its easier to work with, if you only want to amp two speakers you have 2 more channels to work with in the future.

O ok, I gotcha. A 2 channel amp will only amplify 2 speakers (makes sense, ha).

Would it be alright to stick with the HU I have now, not really looking to spend money I dont need to?

you can, you can use a y splitter at the end of your rcas before your amp and use all 4 channels of the amp, OR if you use a sub amp too you can most likely get a mono that has outputs and split those to your 4 ch.

Alright, still need to know what should be done about the box/sub.

I know I could cover a lot more room with a bigger box and I am sure that 12 would hit a LOT harder but I am not sure if adding another 12 (with a new box as well, of course) would give that much more power considering you are losing a lot of space. Opinions?
