Upgrading the factory Bose (blows) speakers in my 2013 Chevy Volt..impedance question

So I have a 2013 Chevy Volt. It's got the factory blows sound system in it which doesn't sound too good.. Who would have guessed?! Anyways those that are not familiar with it they are running 4 channels from the factory head unit into a bose amp and it is splitting it up to 6 channels plus a mini subwoofer. All of the speakers in this setup are 2 ohms, I guess for efficiency. Its got separate tweeters in the pillars that have a dedicated output from the amplifier as well as front and rear door speakers. In the interest of getting better sound I was thinking about replacing the tweeters with Tymphany NE19VTS-04 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeters and replacing the front door speakers with something along the lines of the Dayton Audio DC160-4. The tweeters and the woofers are both 4 ohms and the factory speakers were 2 ohms. If I keep the factory amp and do nothing else but replace the speakers am I going to run in to any issues? Are they going to be really quiet or am I going to damage the amplifier? Also is this a good idea in general and did I select good budget minded components for my project?

This may or may not be helpful but I had a 1987 Buick Riviera with the factory bose system. I gutted out each amplifier from the speaker baffles and ran a 4CH amp and it was a night and day difference. good luck

You won't have very good output, although they will probably sound better. Better option is run your own amp and wire it to the PREAMP signal going to the bose amp and then power your speakers that way.

This has been done before and discussed in detail on the forums for my car but you loose the parking sensor beeps, all audio queues and hands free calling if you switch out the amplifier. That unfortunately is not something that I am willing to live with.

Then try to find 2 ohm speakers for the best output. 4 ohm ones will perform mostly fine, when you crank it up is where you'll potentially find issues.

So I found out that the tweeters are actually 4 ohms and the door speakers are 2 ohms based on some pictures of them that I found online. Not sure about what speakers play the factory tones. I know at least the driver door speaker does. There are interfaces for GM vehicles with bose specifically to address the factory tones issues but they haven't made one for the Volt.
