upgrading subs

i have a g35xs and the trunk is decently small. At the moment i have 2 10inch jl audio W6's hooked up to a jl audio 1000watt amp. One of the subs is blown so i want to just get new subs. I listen to a wide range of music anything from metal to rap. What subs would you reccomend me purchasing

I'd first try to figure out why the sub blew, no use getting something different if there's something wrong with the install.
