Upgrading Speakers

Hey, i just need a few suggestions for some new front speakers for my 1996 jeep cherokee. I just got some Alpine Type-S 5 1/4" installed in the back, and i am thinking of getting the same ones in the front. There seems to not be a whole lot of options in my town, so i am limited to Alpine, Infinity, or Pioneer. From what i ahve heard the Alpine's will be my best bet. Any input will be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Don't feel bad. There are nothing bad about Alpine type S. In fact they are nice. Depending on you budget, you could shop online. Crutchfield.com is a nice place to start. The Polk's on there are really nice speakers. People on here rave about Rainbows, and the pioneer revs for front stage. Try to search and listen to some peole on this forum. Alot of people on here can help you out, espsecially if you have limited brands to choose from. Good luck!

I really wouldnt like to buy them online, im a noob and cant install them myself. My choices are pretty limited to Best Buy (which i dont really want to buy from) Circuit City (better than best buy, but still not my first choice) and these 2 local audio stores. 1 of these shops carrier clarion, and alpine mostly. Other place has Pioneer, and their other brands seem to be kinda cheap. Circuit City has some Polk's which i have heard good things about, and Kicker too which i heard arent too bad either. Thanks for all the input so far guys

If the one shop carries the Pioneer REV series, those sound pretty good for being co-axials. Better than most....

you can order the stuff online, then have your local shop install it. it would be cheaper than ordering from them and then installing it. unless they do free installation on stuff purchased there, and even then it might be cheaper.

Well i re thought about ordering online and i wouldnt have a problem with it. I looked on crutchfield and onlinecarstereo.com and found a few that looked nice. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15350 look good, but i dont know if i would be paying more for the Infinity name, or are they actually worth it? Also i have heard good things about kicker http://www.crutchfield.com/S-nj21yK3ea1g/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51800&I=20655KS525 which dont look to bad, and Polk i have heard good things about http://www.crutchfield.com/S-nj21yK3ea1g/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51800&I=107DB525. I would like to spend less than $120 for these speakers, theyre for the front of my 96' cherokee. If you could suggest some other options that would be great. Also, does it make a difference if in the back i have 4ohm speaker and the front has 2ohm? Thanks for the help very much

I got alpine 2 way coaxials nice clear crisp sound , dont get audiobahn side door they blow 2 easy eclipse nice clear sound not alot of bass pioneer are ok sony **** rockford are nice there's some suggestions for ya but how much u want to spend?
