upgrading speaker wire

I'm about to upgrade my subwoofer wire to 8 ga. from 14 ga. I think I know its real real small, but anyway when upgrading so I need to run the 8 ga. to connect the voicecoils also? I know I have to run the wire from the subs to amp but not sure about the voicecoils

you attach it to the terminals on the sub, idk what you mean by running it from the voicecoil

Yes. If you didn't you'd just have a bunch of wasted 8 ga going to the box...

If your going to go 8 gauge at any point from the amp to the sub you need the same size wire everywhere or else you would have a bottleneck.
