Upgrading Amp for DA d610

Right now i have a planet audio VX900D amp and am thinking about an amp that puts out more power. I have a D610 wired at 2 ohms in a 1.09 ft^3 @33hz and my amp puts out 650rms @ 2 ohms. Rather than maxing out my amp, would it be better to get a larger/better amp that i can run at lower settings? Another thing, i bought another deck without completely researching it and from my old deck (with 5v preouts) to my new alpines 2v preouts. From what ive read, a deck putting out less preout voltage requires the gain to be up much higher to compensate. Is this true?

Im looking for something that isnt huge. I need to be able to fit it under my passenger seat in a F-150. Any recs?

yes the gains will need to be readjusted to match the voltage of your new alpine deck. and yes, it would be better to run a larger amp at lower settings. do you have a budget?

somewhat on a budget. I will spent enough to get my sub sounding good. After talking with exelerater, i think im going to sell my 2 d610d4's and go with a d612d2 @1ohm, which my amp would put out 950rms vice 650 now. Im also going to look into a better deck with higher preouts. I wish i would have researched my alpine deck more before i bought it.

my plan is to do the 12d2 first, and see how i like it. I think my problem is i expect to much from a single 10. I actually like the deck, but alot of people dont feel its up to par with the premiers/excelons. After i bought it, i browsed some reviews and wasnt mad, but thought i could have maybe done better.
