I'm picking up a 98 Suburban(Not 100% but most likely) Now this is the vehicle I want I've decided, not necessarily this one but the model. (Gas isn't so bad anymore right now and keeps slowly going down, at least where I am, ATM so inb4 gas prices), but a bit newer(Maybe 03ish) would be nice, but of course being just out of high school this is all I can afford. Now I looked at a few other trucks, one that was mostly after market engine parts and it ran so smooth but the dealer wanted a lot for it (It was a lot older 93 so I didn't want to bother paying 8.5 grand for it) I really liked what the previous owner had done to it though. I'll be buying a new vehicle soon regardless because my current one's problems cost more than buying another vehicle the same year.

So now I want your guys opinions(preferably if you were once in the same delema) should I go ahead a work on this 98(Or lets say any vehicle between 94-98 because this isn't a for sure) which is something I can afford right now, or save for something around a 03 or so? I like this 98 Suburban(Its pretty solid sun roof, 4x4, all options ect.) but I don't know if such an older vehicle is worth the work? I would really like to do some work on it but I don't wanna put to much money into it if its better to wait and buy something newer?

Well the situation is its been to the dealer-only auction 2 times already and it is now there the third, the guy told me he will phone me if it sells or comes back(Guy said it will probably come back) and it should be back in the next day or 2 now. He said 4 grand if it comes back, its a pretty decent deal even if it has minor problems so I will buy regardless, unless it has MAJOR problems, but from the pictures it has no interior problems or dents, just gotta see how she runs.

u can find alot of cars for 4 grand, that run perfectly
Usually a 98 Suburban, at least around here, will go for double that. Well anyways price isn't the point, I want opinions if I should 'pimp out' and put in some aftermarket parts or wait for a newer truck?
