Upgrade from one 2010 compVR in a sealed box?

I need help deciding what to upgrade to. I really want higher SPL, and a lower frequency response and to my understanding getting a ported box is the way to do that. Should I get another DVC compVR and put them in a ported box with a new amp? Or should I just get two new subs all together. I really only want to spend another $500 split between an amp and sub upgrade. Thank you for suggestions and help!

So right now you're running it in a sealed enclosure? The CVR's don't do well in sealed boxes. A lot of people like to knock the CVR's but in a big enough ported box they can get pretty loud. I personally never liked the sound of them but it's a decent entry level woofer imo. That being said get another CVR and get a box built that's around 4.0-5.0 cubes ported around 36 hz. Or get some plans and build it yourself. If you want to start over be prepared to get about 1000 subs thrown at you as suggestions. Lol! Just do some research. I just think putting the Kickers in a good box and giving them around 600-800 or so you'll be happy.

So I should I just get another cvr, ok! Can someone point me in the right direction for an amp. I have been considering these two,

Pioneer GM-D8601 800W RMS Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier

Rockford Fosgate R750-1D (R7501D) 750W Monoblock Class D Car Amplifier

The specs look good on both but I am not sure if there is something better out there. Also is it better to run two DVC subs at 1 ohm or 4 ohms? Thanks for all the help everyone!

Edit: Wait @Side Show do you recommend getting a ported box for the sub I have already and seeing if that is loud enough?

Mine are in around 4.5 sealed firing cabin side for extra gain, I am going to try porting it thru the rear deck with two 3" aeros before I get rid of them, holes are already there

OP I will sell you my two they are dual 4 ohm 2010 models 12's
