Well, I'm currently running what is in my sig. I, like everyone else, want to improve my midbass. I am getting another 36sqft of damplifier pro to seal up the doors. I want to keep the price under $200 for a pair of 6.5" mids with 40rms @4 ohm or 50rms@2ohm. Honestly, the CDT set that i am running sounds pretty darn good to me compared to a few other sets around town. They get plenty loud for me with this power, but i would like to be able to drop my hpf to 63hz. I might can play around with the tuning a little more and get them to play, but i am looking to switch up the mid. Any suggestions?

Just from looking on wooferetc i like the ID CX62... should i look elsewhere?

try out the m6 from cdt of the m6+ with the drt 26 tweet there is a combo like that supposed to play low and handle lots of power u should up the power buy my zx850.4 i got on a set of the cdt cl-62cf comps giving them 175rms per side and they scream

Is upping the power necessary if i already think my current setup gets plenty loud with only 40rms?

You say M6>CX? More likely CDT>ID?

you need to power them better, get an amp that does 125x2 and you will be very impressed.

and why are you sending quality speakers 40 watts anyway?

Honestly I am trying to upgrade because i am thinking of loosing the sub.... Not sure why, but i think i will be happy with just a good front stage.

I could bridge the alpine for the tweets and pick up a diff 2 ch. for the mids and deaden/seal the balls out of my doors. I wouldnt mind doing that.

well, bottom line is that you have to get more amplifier power before you upgrade your speakers. Spend that 200 bucks on a good amp that does 100-150 rms and you will be set.

that made me Laugh!!
ok w/e dude get the m6 and the drt 26 tweet and u will have amazing midbass and great highs and mids with that setup but you can get a comp setup from exige with the m6 and the 26tweet for a better price than woofer
