Upgrade from 12" Fi Q to 12" Fi BL with options?

I have a 12" Fi Q Dual 2ohm sub, wired to 1ohm on a Hifonics BXi1606D, rated at '1600' watts RMS, which is obviously overrated. But I can only fit a 2.5 cu.ft. ported box in my coupe car, so I have to stick with 1 12" subwoofer, and I can say Im satisfied with my Fi Q, but I have a feeling I want louder and lower, and breathing room for my sub so I dont blow it with my amp with gain-messing and such, since I do it by ear.

I want a subwoofer that can handle my amplifier at 1ohm, is a Fi BL going to be louder and lower than a Fi Q at the same power?

What are some better choices than a Fi BL that will go very low and loud? I want one that will last a while without problems, because my Fi Q is making a popping sound during very low notes, which is probably bottoming out, so I fixed the gains lower and adjusted the subsonic. Because of this, I want a louder and lower hitting subwoofer.

Anyone who can answer all my questions and advice is welcome. Thanks. Much appreciated fellas. =]

Is an Audioque HD3 12" really better than an Fi BL? Is there a link to their site? I'd like to check some specs, for comparison haha.

Thanks for that input buddy.

From people transitioning from a Q to a BL. . . . i've read on here ppl were more satisfied with the musical output of the Q. I've only heard a Q in person, not a BL.

Ooh, well, Im definitely looking for something with SQL but goes louder and lower than a Fi Q 12". I cant fit a 15" into my trunk. Any subwoofer suggestions other than a AudioQue HD3 and Fi BL (which im not getting now, doesnt seem worth it).

Thanks.

I have heard both, but not head to head. Both were in vastly different installs.

But "louder and lower", I would trying different box first.
I don't think he can do both, cause if he tunes lower it won't get louder. But if he tunes higher it'll get louder but wont get as low.

Ditto, I dont think Im going to upgrade to a BL, doesnt seem worth it right now. Anything better than a BL, 12" and around, 1400-1600 watts RMS in a 2.5 cu.ft. 32hz ported box?

Help is appreciated, and I appreciate those who did already.

Although Im all for selling stuff... Id keep the cash in your pocket vs buying the BL. While the BL can get louder, it wont be lower. Its tough to have a single driver do both.
