It all goes back to the good old days if you think about it. HiFonics, Soundstream, Orion, Rockford, Linear, Lanzar, PPI, Kicker,Alpine, Audio Art, hell tons more used to ALL be the cats meow and were all brick and mortar based companies. I dont care which comp you went to on which weekend you would see all of them winning. That is back when all of them all really cared about making a superior product that wasn't sold for less than its value. Now since the internet really came along you have seen all of them move off shore to build their products to stay competitive. Once the the Korean build houses still weren't profitable they had to go Chinese. What happened IMO is the products lost their value and to maintain business they have to build cheaper or be bought out by other companies that eventually ruined the name. Take Lanzar for expample, I remember the day I was told they were bought out by Pyramid and I about sh*t. I was told not to worry because Pyramid wouldn't mess with a quality product like that.....I knew better and now look what has happened. I do not normally talk down about ANY company but when you reaqlly look at the whole picture look where the industry has gone to. I really really miss the good old days when it didnt matter what you ran because all of them were awesome. Now I understand 90% of the guys on CA.com dont remember those days but ask any of us guys from the good old days....clears throat....early 80's Oh, another good example is RE and Fi. Wh do you think Scott Atwell left RE and started Fi and only sells his product directly....IMO to keep hi value in his product.
