Underpowering

Basically in laymans terms- Overdriving an amp- weather it be lower or higher in output wattage causes speaker damage

Ok question, my power hx2 wired at 1 ohm,is powered by a bd1000.1(wired sub to 1 ohm cant wire to 2 ohms). having it as a 1ohm , is da overdriving the amp? i kno i was told things before, but i read this and was confused. cuz i dont want to mess n e thing up...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

That's not what he means by overdriving, that is actually what that amp is made for. He means a low amp (100 peak) with all the gains and bass maxed out going to a 500 watt RMS sub, and turning it up loud and playing it for a long time. ohhh phheeewwwww, the amp is coming this week and i will begin to set everything up, but i was so scared about the 1ohm load that i was having doubts......dun wanna smell sum thing buring, u kno wut i mean.....this is the start to my 1st real system.

bout 650-700 bucks, for the power hx2 12" and the bd1000.1 amp...

good price or i got rippef off...and be honest, i can take it...

The Rfr 3112 power hx2 dvc 2ohms, and a rockford fosgate bd1000.1 amp,

i forgot the exact price...

but sub was around 250

and amp was around 400 al brand new might i add

hahaha, yea, my brother found em for me.....will ask him where he got it at.....i want a new head unit tho, i have a clarion unit, i want either rockford or an alpine....

Personally, I prefer either Alpine or Pioneer, but with that amp and sub you could have a Road Gear deck and still blow $3000 systems out of the water! For you, maybe a nice Alpine with Mp3 capability

Road Gear stuff is sold at Wal-Mart, and that deck is really cheap for about $30, but I don't think it has pre-amps. As for me, I have a 68 Mustang (fast too!) with a Jensen 2 post tape deck (15Wx4), an MTX RT2400 Amp (400 W RMS bridged), and one JL Audio 12W0 in a 1.3 cubic ft. sealed box, and it sounds pretty good for one 12" in an old car.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

hey i had question about the hx2 i wanted to get 2 hx2 2ohms punch and bd1000.1 amp now can i run them parallel without a problem?
