**Ultimate 10" Battle**

personally, i've used the soundstream rubicon 10'' (just 1)... and its one of the Best SQ drivers ive used. i'm an oddball though, and i like ported... it was in a ported box.

come in dual 4 ohm, so you'd have to wire it to 2... and its not going to handle 1500 RMS for daily driving (i think thats what you said the amp pushed out). but they go in small enough boxs that you could run 2 of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif (.5 cu ft each driver). they can be acquired relatively cheap also... for under 100 each i'm sure.
Thanks for the recomendation, but I am looking for 1 Driver that will put out what two of those will.

I wont disregaurd what you are saying though, ill take the information and think about it. thanks again.

damn man its frickin early. u can read about that sub here http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/website/products/IDMAX.html . its a very good sq sub, and still has a decent amount of bump.

Haha! rise and shine! I am in Chicago right now and its 1/2 to 10 so i can understand why your a little tired it being two hours earlier in Cali. I am very interested in this sub. So do these perform well in small boxes? How does one tell by looking at the specs?

doubt you will be able to do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif especially for the same price...

but anyway, you ever thought about going ported??? you can find a descent 10'' that will perform well in a semi-small ported box and still retain good SQ.

Yea yea, well im not so much worried about the price as i am getting good working sub that will last a long time. Id like to buy a woofer new w/ a warranty just incase...

You know i have though a little about ported, but just kinda word of mouth i have heard sealed is the way to go for the optimum sound quality. I want to be drivin' down a main street with the windows down and people 4 blocks away to start singing the song im playing...lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pullover.gif.ac2de04a20ebe8c72a715e86e00c8c0d.gif

maybe this is the problem??? dunno... just listen and judge for yourself, everybodies opinion is different. personally i like ported better because 1) its louder (if designed correctly) 2) sounds better (to my ears)

hmmm... lol, i doubt that will happen 4 blocks away anyway... but it sounds to me like you are wanting a nice low tuned ported box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif it will still sound descent and get loud enough to blurr your vision (maybe) and make your ears tingle...

Well I totaly agree about that, I hate going to audio-shops (specially in Marin County, CA) because they all charge 80/hr and think they are hot shit. I will see if i can hear some ported boxes, and look at that as a possibility.

Aww, ye of little faith...lol Okay maybe 3 and 1/2 blocks away then... I think you get the point of my scenerio, I WANT A KICKASS SYSTEM!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/spank.gif.0d78e34d42ea8780359e903aeb6697d6.gif

ported ='s kick *** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but i am not gonna tell YOU what to do...

i used to be a sealed man myself, but i've since learned how to build my own ported boxs. for obvious reasons. its cheaper, and they are louder. plus the more you build them, the more you can make them SQ oriented also.

Okay Okay~

I just want to make sure that with ported, its not going to be so much bass that it will drown out the componants. I know that depends on the sub and componants, but the woofer in my eyes is an accessorie to the componants. Thats my view. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/driving.gif.c4dead4599dda895032b63e51f52b126.gif

Goodmorning everybody! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ready2go.gif.6557fa3d88b9eaca9c7b8efb9cbd02ed.gif
Im havin' hard time finding any specs on that particular sub, would you mind tellin' me a little about it? That would be much appreciated.

Tomorrow i am going to measure the amount of room i have to play with for box sizes but an estimate for now is about 20 inches wide x 14 or so inches high. Does that help with the searchfield? I at least need to know of some subs that work well in small boxes that will still hit hard. Thanks...

well, the DD 35 and sx dont belong in the list... they won't work nearly as well sealed as the other woofs.
i'd vote brahma, but i dont think they are currently available.

a 10w7 wouldnt be a terrible pick here, if not a little pricey. The TDX isn't that great of an SPL woofer, but it does sound pretty good.

whats the TDX of a woofer?

Thank you. I think this would be a good choice.

What about the Eclipse SW9102???? It says it will work well with small sealed enclosures, what are people's experience with Eclipse? I have heard they're an excellant company.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif
