Every time I turnmy car on and the amp gets power, the sub hits really hard one time. It does it when the music is on or off. Is that normal? Can I get it to stop?

that is called "turn-on pop" and although it is common it is still the result of a bad install. Did you do the install yourself or was it done for you?

before we get into trouble shooting with you i would suggest you search the forum for "alternator whine" and "turn on pop" (or "popping"). It's definately not alternator whine. From what I read, it sounds like I should try a new ground spot.

Not yet, just got her installed yesterday. I haven't been pushing her THAT hard yet.

It's probably a bad ground, check all your RCAs too... it'll be fine for now, some people never fix it.
