massive vibrations simply shake it at an accelerated rate. it can be stiff but bass does that.. lol many of my older systems used to literally open my sunroof while I was driving, i'd be driving down the road and the bass would cause the button to be pressed and it'd just open up scaring the **** out of me while I was listening to the music and focusing on driving.

If you have a Dmm, which is a basic meter found at most auto stores. See what your voltage is at your amp. You may have phase issues. What amp, subs box type?
